Margaret & Stan with Aspen Mtn in the background

Season's greetings (1999/2000) from Aspen!

Yes, we really did it. As planned, we retired in April (1999), sold our Boulder home in May and moved to Aspen.

But, before we really settled in, we had a great holiday in the Pacific Northwest, including a visit with Stan's mother and sister in Anacortes and a tour of the Canadian Rockies with friends, Bev and Bob Beehler.

On our return to Aspen our summer was filled with hiking, friends, visiting with Margaret's dad in Aspen and Minnesota and volunteer work with the Aspen Music Festival. Stan led history tours to the music tent and Margaret made herself so valuable in the Music Festival office that they pressed her into a job as the Friday office manager.

Much has progressed on our future home, near Allenspark, CO. We cleared the house site and driveway, dug a good well and received site plan approval. We have an architect, Ed Troyer of Glenwood Springs, who has a real feel for our dream. We expect to begin construction in the spring.

Until then, we look forward to our best season of downhill skiing ever--as soon as a little more snow arrives. Stan has a part-time job as a lift operator on Aspen Mountain that provides both of us with season passes to all four local ski mountains!

We hope you are all enjoying life as much as we are and that 2000 treats you well. When you're in Aspen, please drop in. Until then, drop us a note at margaret@huntting.com or stan@huntting.com.

Best Wishes,

Margaret & Stan
